Personality:
Selene's an exceptionally stoic character, who rarely evinces emotion, and when she does, it's almost always anger or annoyance, rather than something of a positive nature. She hardly smiles, and it's even more unusual to hear her laugh. Granted, her entire life is geared around killing and survival, which would make anyone particularly grim after the amount of time she's been committed to it.
She's an incredibly driven person, whose single-minded pursuit of her goals is incredibly difficult to derail. Her determination to wipe out lycan, for example, set her on a course from which she has not veered for six centuries. She's capable of intense righteous anger, and her favorite means of releasing it is through violence. Her personal vendettas define her, and she sees nothing wrong with the concept of vengeance.
Despite all of this tough exterior, Selene is far from being without a heart. Though she has an odd sense of humor, it is (on rare occasions), possible to at least amuse her. She does what she does because she believes it to be right and necessary. Selene also displays deep loyalty to the (very) few people who mean anything to her: Viktor being the most prominent of these. She's also capable of forming new attachments, though it's likely to be in a situation where she has to protect someone, given that acting as a protector is such an ingrained part of her personality. She's capable of all human emotion, and displays a streak of very genuine sympathy at times.
As for Viktor, he is definitely the most important person in her life, and she looks up to him as a pseudo-parental figure. She shows real affection for him in her own way, and he, in return, makes no secret of his favoritism, which seems to be one other reason there's a wedge between Selene and the rest of her coven. She possesses an almost untouchable status due to Viktor's power, and wields a certain freedom of action and power within the group herself as well, as a result. This works well for her purposes, but she doesn't take advantage of the fact to become complacent or 'spoiled'. It's more a matter of practicality than anything, in her eyes.
Kraven certainly recognizes her status, and appears to want to use her as a way of increasing his own power, but his advances are entirely unwelcome to her, and she does not, for one moment, encourage him. She has little to no tolerance for vampires like Kraven, who are focused on their own power, or on the decadence of their lifestyle. To her, the power she's been granted by Viktor is a gift that she can use to wipe out the abominations which wander the earth.
Selene can be ferociously stubborn and willful, with a pride born of 600 years of life. She'll make the tough calls, and follow through, and once she's set her mind on something, you'd be hard pressed to stop her.
She fears failure, including failing her own high standards. She pushes herself non-stop, wreaking what she believes to be righteous justice upon the lycans. There is a part of her that greatly fears that if she were to stop fighting, someone else she knows, and cares about, might die as a result, as happened with her family, who she could not save.
Problematically, since Selene spends so much time pushing herself, as mentioned above, she very rarely takes the time to form bonds with those around her. Ironically, her greatest fear of being unable to protect those she loves becomes a moot point when she doesn't allow herself to get close to anyone else readily.

There was something off about this place, and it wasn't simply the fact that Selene had no idea how she'd gotten here. The door had refused to budge against her hardest grip - and the frustration she felt as a result of this was something that felt relatively new to her. Or so old that she could barely remember it. It was rare that she met a physical barrier that could stand up to the strength of a vampire, and for someone to have designed a door that couldn't be cranked open by someone of her strength from the inside... Well, it boded ill.
She'd considered shooting out the lock, but curiosity got the better of her. Someone had brought her here; there was no other explanation, for she certainly hadn't come of her own accord. If it was a confrontation they wanted, she would be more than happy to provide: being abducted was certainly enough to put her in a perfectly pissed off frame of mind.
She slid both guns out of their holsters, and moved warily into the next room. She was expectant that someone would be standing there, and not seeing anyone, she instantly leveled both guns straight ahead and swept them abruptly, swiftly, to the left, then the right.
Nothing. Nothing but a room that seemed a brighter version of the sort of elegant hall she might find in her own coven's manor. Lowering the guns again slowly, a narrow line formed on her brow, as she listened for any sign of movement, breathing, a heart beat.
It struck her that this place had a very distinct smell, and it was that smell which seemed wrong to her. She couldn't place it.
Well, anything that was wrong could be righted, she reminded herself, replacing the clip in her gun from one filled with silver to something a little more universally damaging. Especially by eliminating it, she added, jamming in the clip with a satisfying snap. Grimly, she edged on towards the next room.
